Deep beneath the earth, reside the Clockwork Folk. Powered by sunlight seeping through cracks, they live in harmony with the ant colonies. Their deity, the Great Gear, a mythical machine, is worshipped in silent communion. Stories are told of a world beyond, a place of giants and towering structures, but none have ever dared to venture forth.

Among them is Cogita. And unlike the others, Cogita ponders the nature of existence and the purpose of their tiny lives. Many dismiss her musings as idle cogitations, but other find solace in her words, seeing in her a connection to something greater, a bridge between the mundane and the divine.
